Coles Community Round - Bec Henderson is coming to PRLAC!
2 Nov by Lynton Martin
We are pumped to be announcing that PRLAC will be joined by Coles Little Athletics Athlete Ambassador and 2x Olympian, Bec Henderson to help us celebrate Coles Community Round on Saturday November 8th.
In helping us celebrate #ColesCommunityRound , we encourage all our athletes and volunteers to get into the Coles spirit by dressing up in a Coles-themed outfit - think bananas, shopping, red. Let your imagination run wild! Prizes will be on offer for the best dressed costumes.
We look forward to welcoming Bec next Saturday and cannot wait to celebrate Coles Community Round. Our regular program will be modified to allow for Bec's visit including a Q and A with our athletes and a chance for PRLAC athletes to meet Bec! We will also be having a BBQ to celebrate Coles Community Round
About Bec -
Bec Henderson is an Australian racewalker specializing in the 20km and 35km events. She has represented Australia at two Olympic Games and multiple World Championships, including placing 9th at the most recent World Championships in Tokyo. Bec holds the Australian all-time top 3 for the 20km walk and the national record in the 35km walk and has achieved multiple personal bests across national and international competitions.
Bec’s athletics journey began at Berwick/Casey Little Athletics Centre VIC when she was just five, inspired by her cousins and the fun of Saturday mornings. She trains under Simon Baker around Albert Park, St Kilda, and Knox, and credits her success to a combination of hard work, passion, and the support of coaches, family, and training partners. Bec encourages young athletes to “give every event a go, even if it’s not your best one, and have fun!”
