WEEK 1 PROGRAM - SAT 11TH OCTOBER

9 Oct by Lynton Martin

We look forward to welcoming everyone to PRLAC for the first competition of the 2025/26 Season. The Committee have been hard at work over the winter organising another enjoyable season of Little Aths and can’t wait to kick off!

For the first week, we are running a modified program of 4 events per age group consisting of two track and two field events.

U6 (On Track)
U7 (On Track, 70m, 200m, Shot Put, Long Jump)
U8-U10 (70m, 200m, Shot Put, Long Jump
U11-U17 (70m, 200m, Discus, Long Jump)

Don’t forget to register. For insurance purposes, only athletes who have registered (either as a full member or trial member) will be permitted to compete. To ensure that your child’s registration patch is ready for collection, please ensure you register by 4:30pm tomorrow (Friday).

We ask that families arrive by 8:15am ready for warm up with first events being called at 8:30am. Please arrive early to enable enough time to collect your registration patch and get all signed up. Alternatively, you can come down tomorrow night from 5:30pm-7pm to collect your registration patch and purchase any uniform that you require to beat the crowds on Saturday!

To make the day run smoothly especially being Week 1, all assistance is welcomed starting with set up at 7am (events don’t magically set themselves up!). We are looking for parents that would like to learn about arena managing and running the timing gates to take over from Shayne. Shayne is happy to teach those interested in learning the roles with the plan to take over from him during the season. We are also looking for parents to assist with starting. Rik has been starting the past few seasons where his role as Chief of Officials is to roam and rotate around the different events providing support and guidance to event officials and our volunteer parents. Our long time starter, Phil is happy to provide support to teach and mentor any parents interested. As always, help is always welcome in the canteen. So there are plenty of ways that you can help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are interested in assisting – there is always something needing to be done!
